Behind The Scenes: How Our HVAC Team Spreads Holiday Cheer

Lisa Lewolt

The holiday season is a time for warmth, laughter, and a little bit of chaos—and no one knows that better than the hardworking teams behind your HVAC services. From quirky attic encounters to imagining work vans decked out for the holidays, each department has its own unique way of celebrating the season.

Join us as we dive into the holiday spirit with our HVAC team members, who shared their funniest stories, creative ideas, and favorite traditions to keep the cheer alive while keeping homes comfortable and cozy. Whether it’s sharing a laugh about antique dolls in an attic or dreaming of a Rudolph-inspired service van, these insights remind us that there’s always room for a little joy and imagination—even during the busiest time of year.

From service calls to office karaoke sessions, here’s how our team stays motivated, spreads cheer, and embraces the holiday vibes.

HVAC Service Department – Tyler Conroy

“What’s the wildest or funniest thing you’ve seen while working in someone’s home during the holidays?”
“I was in an attic where they had an antique doll collection, and the dolls looked like they were staring at me while I worked. It felt like I was in a holiday horror movie, but I kept my cool and got the job done—although I might have looked over my shoulder a few times!”

“If you had to decorate your work van for the holidays, what would it look like?”
“Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, so I’d cover the van with little hand-traced turkeys—like the ones kids make in school. To transition into Christmas, I’d add some colorful light bling, and for a final touch, I’d slap a Rudolph nose on the hood and some antlers on the windows. It would look festive and hilarious driving down the road!”

“Holiday service calls can get busy—what’s your go-to treat or drink to keep you fueled during the season?”
“When I need something to keep me going, it’s gotta be the 3×3 Animal Style from In-N-Out. It’s messy, it’s delicious, and it’s the perfect energy boost to power through those long service calls.”

Install Department – Daniel Ortiz

“If you could install one holiday gift in anyone’s home, what would it be?”
“I’d install a mini-split system. It’s perfect for year-round comfort—cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. But if we’re sticking with holiday vibes, I’d say a brand-new furnace. Nothing says the season like keeping a family warm on a cold winter night.”

“Imagine your team turns into elves—what role would you play in Santa’s workshop?”
“I’d definitely be the head elf, leading the team to make sure everything runs smoothly. My elf name would be ‘Danielo the Elfo.’ I’d keep everyone organized but make sure we’re having a blast while we work—like all good elves do!”

“Installing HVAC systems can be tough—what’s your favorite way to unwind during the holidays?”
“After a long day, nothing beats taking a drive to look at Christmas lights. I grab a fresh cup of warm coffee, put on some holiday music, and enjoy the neighborhoods all decked out for the season. It’s the perfect way to relax and get into the holiday spirit.”

Office Staff – Destiny Bustos

“If the office could have a holiday mascot, who or what would it be?”
“A Christmas Elf for sure! It’s small, cheerful, and always working hard behind the scenes to make magic happen—just like our office team. Plus, who doesn’t love a little elf energy during the holidays?”

“It’s holiday karaoke time—what song are you singing first?”
“I’m grabbing the mic and singing ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ by Mariah Carey. It’s a classic, it’s upbeat, and let’s be honest, it gets everyone in the holiday mood!”

“The holiday season can get busy—what’s your favorite way to spread cheer to coworkers or customers?”
“I love just keeping things simple but meaningful—wishing everyone a happy holiday, sharing a smile, and bringing positive energy to the team and our customers. Sometimes, just a kind word can brighten someone’s day.”

Management Team – Jackie Hernandez

“If you could give your team one ‘magic holiday gift’ to help them next year, what would it be?”
“If I had a magic holiday gift to give, it would be endless energy and motivation to tackle every challenge. Oh, and maybe a little extra coffee for those especially busy mornings!”

“Holiday team-building challenge: you have to build a gingerbread house. Who’s taking the lead, and who’s sneaking candy?”
“Destiny is definitely taking the lead—she’s got the vision and the precision to pull it off. Jen is off to the side laughing at everyone, and Kenya… well, Kenya is sneaking candy the whole time. It’s a team effort, but Kenya might be the reason the house is missing a few decorations!”

“If your management team had to star in a holiday movie, what would the title be?”
“It would be called ‘Home Alone: The Operations Manager is Out.’ It’s a mix of comedy and chaos as the team tries to hold down the fort while the manager takes a much-needed break. Hilarity ensues, but of course, we pull it all together in the end—holiday magic and teamwork at its finest.”
