1. Pets and wild animals
We see pet damage to outdoor condensers all the time. If your air conditioner is outside on the ground and you have a dog, be sure to house your AC in some sort of a protective barrier. When that happens the urine can burn a hole right through the coil. The condenser coil is not cheap to replace, so unless you have an iron clad warranty you might be looking at an expensive repair bill or worse replacement depending on the age of the system.

When your condenser has anything blocking it’s airflow you can expect problems to arise. If you have trees bushes or shrubs that are living around your air conditioning unit outdoors you maybe putting yourself at risk for an unnecessary breakdown. When did Bree gets caught in the condenser unit it restricts the airflow making the motor inside of the air conditioner work much harder than it has to. Investing in a cover for the top of your conditioner is always a good idea, and regularly cleaning the outside of the unit to make sure that you’re not obstructing the airflow. We always recommend seasonal tuneups on your air conditioning and heating system to have a professional inspect and clean all of the moving parts inside of the unit as well.
3. Dirty air filters
Over the years we have been in thousands of homes that are spic and span, nice and tidy and have filthy air filters. This is nothing to be embarrassed about, it happens to the best of us.
